Daniel Poissant is a professional pianist, composer, and piano teacher with a love for music and a passion for sharing it. He holds a Bachelor’s in Music from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a Master’s in Piano Performance from the Fontys Conservatory of the Arts in the Netherlands. During his time studying abroad, Daniel performed in festivals, concerts, and masterclasses in the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, and Finland. Among these performances was the premiere of his master’s thesis composition Lucid at the historic Castletown House in Celbridge Ireland. The opportunity to perform alongside world-class musicians, each with unique perspectives, cultural backgrounds, and artistry, further deepened his love for performing. It also reinforced his belief in music’s power to unite people from all walks of life. Since returning to the States, Daniel has performed regularly as the pianist for the Raleigh Symphony’s Chamber concert series, as well as at local events and musicals.

As a teacher, Daniel finds great joy in sharing his knowledge and expertise with his students. With over six years of teaching experience, Daniel has worked with students ages 5 to 60, each with unique personalities, interests, and goals. He greatly enjoys connecting with students at their level and guiding them to reach their full musical potential. Daniel’s students have won top prizes in competitions, earned high scores at the NCMTA piano festival, and conquered musical challenges they once thought impossible. In his lessons, Daniel teaches the fundamentals of piano playing, including technique, music theory, and expression, and provides valuable methods for practicing efficiently at home.
